Berlin’s Top 200 - The largest employers in Berlin

Berlin's 200 largest employers attract qualified employees to the Spree.

Berlin remains on a growth trajectory – with an economy in transition. At the end of last year, the top 200 companies in the capital region employed around 523,000 people – an increase of 1.0% compared to the previous year. Employment growth therefore continues, but at a slower pace than in 2024 (1.9%). While 84 companies expanded their workforce, 53 reported declines.

Key drivers of growth include the healthcare sector, retail, and the rail industry. Particularly strong growth was recorded by the healthcare provider Alexianer (+32.1%), the grid operator 50Hertz (+18.1%), and Berliner Energie und Wärme AG (+15.2%). This are the results of the latest ranking of the city's largest employers by the Berliner Morgenpost in collaboration with Berlin Partner for Business and Technology.
