In addition to e-commerce applications, the entertainment industry and manufacturing industries, the developments are mainly used in three fields of application:

Business Intelligence & Process Management

With 36 percent, innovations and services for the analysis and optimization of internal processes account for the largest share. Knowledge-based expert and language systems automate business processes and increase efficiency and transparency. AI systems evaluate market data with regard to future developments, facilitate personnel recruitment, and support more targeted marketing and better customer engagement through data-based analyses.

Health Intelligence

In Berlin, AI systems not only support internal hospital processes, but also surgical planning, diagnostics, and data analysis of specific clinical pictures. In addition, apps for fitness and health are being developed, as well as chatbots that accompany those affected on their path to recovery: from the diagnosis of the disease to the doctor's visit to aftercare.

Mobility and City Intelligence

A particular focus of Berlin-based AI companies is the development of driver assistance systems. In addition to the core areas of autonomous driving, Berlin is also working on AI systems for road maps, apps for pedestrians, and augmented reality systems for air traffic.
