Berlin is the third-largest airport location in Germany.

In 2025, 26.1 million passengers used the airport, 2.3 percent more than in 2024. In 2019 there were 35.6 million passengers. Berlin Brandenburg Airport (BER) currently operates BER with two terminals (Terminals 1 and 2).

In addition to securing the long-term air traffic infrastructure for the capital region, the company's task is to develop the existing commercial airports as required.

The Flughafen Berlin Brandenburg GmbH is owned by the public sector.

Airlines and destinations

In 2025, Berlin airport was served by 70 airlines and offered flights to over 160 destinations in 52 countries across four continents. In October, the airport also welcomed its 100-millionth passenger since opening in 2020.
