IT security

IT security is an important economic factor and can be an enabler and driver of digitalization in an increasingly networked economy in Europe.

Digital security is a key issue for Berlin as an IT hub – not least because of its role as the capital city, home to many government agencies, embassies, and political institutions with high security requirements. The city offers a strong ecosystem of leading companies, research institutions, and networks, attracting international customers.

The state initiative Project Future brings together politics, administration, business, and science and promotes the media and IT industry. IT‑ security plays a major role in Berlin and Brandenburg's innovation strategy. The IT Security Network Berlin-Brandenburg (it's.BB) and the Digital Agency Berlin jointly set up a "cyber hotline" where companies can receive anonymous support after IT security incidents. The corporate network strengthens the economic and innovative power of the regional IT security industry and connects the players in the industry with each other.

In the capital region, numerous DigiTech companies and research institutions have strong expertise in the field of IT security and offer suitable solutions.
