IT security
IT security is an important economic factor and can be an enabler and driver of digitalization in an increasingly networked economy in Europe.
The IT security industry has developed rapidly in Berlin as the capital and seat of embassies, federal authorities, and various governmental bodies, all with high security requirements. With companies and their services, networks and numerous research institutions, Berlin is not only home to a dynamic developer and supplier base, but also represents the contact point for globally active customers.
The Berlin state initiative Projekt Zukunft acts as a link to politics and administration and networks the media and IT industry with each other and with science. IT security is anchored as a cross-sectional issue in the joint innovation strategy of the states of Berlin and Brandenburg. For example, the IT Security Network Berlin Brandenburg (it's.BB e.V.) and the Digital Agency Berlin have jointly set up a “cyber hotline” where companies can receive anonymous help following IT security incidents. The IT Security Network supports the economic and innovative power of the IT security industry and links players in the industry.
Digital technologies can provide appropriate solutions to a wide range of issues. Numerous Berlin-based companies and research institutes have the necessary expertise and technology in IT security.
