With more than 7.6 million participants at over 70,000 business events and a total turnover of 1.4 billion euros, the Berlin conference and congress industry enjoyed a successful year in 2023. One in five visitors came from abroad. At almost 16 percent, the proportion of international events was far higher than the previous year's figure of 4 percent and the national average of 4.7 percent. In addition to congresses and conferences in the field of health, Berlin increasingly attracted events in the fields of the environment, sustainability and energy.
