Berlin is Germany’s fashion capital with roughly 2,400 companies in the design industry and more than 22,800 people employed (in the industry)! The Berlin fashion industry’s economic growth is evident in the increasing number of companies: Encouraged by the proximity to the creative industries and important related markets, the number of fashion businesses has grown more than 30% since 2000. In comparison with other German cities, Berlin came in first in both growth of the amount of companies and also the overall number of employees.
