The Senate of Berlin

The Senate Department for Economics, Energy and Public Enterprises (Senatsverwaltung für Wirtschaft, Energie und Betriebe) sees itself as a partner to the industry and offers a broad spectrum of services for new and existing Berlin companies in the areas of economic and structural policy, tourism and economic development funding. In supporting the Berlin economy, the goal of the Senate administration is to disassociate growth from resource consumption and environmental impact.

The digitization of our society is a focal point of the Senate administration’s work. We support the establishment of technical infrastructure, and help companies to digitize their production, management, and sales processes. However, another focus is to create acceptance among companies, employees, and consumers for the sometimes drastic changes that can be associated with digitization.

With the Trades Portal of the State of Berlin, the Senate for Economics, Energy and partners have set up a central contact point for tradespeople and freelancers. The portal provides information on counseling, requirements, procedures and formalities. Authorization procedures can be initiated directly online – around the clock, without long waits.

It offers wide-ranging information and consulting services in the innovative industries such as media; information and communications technology; energy, environmental and transportation technology.

Furthermore, our office will be happy to answer your questions about economic development funding, the economic system, foreign trade and East-West economic cooperation.
