The CleanTech Business Park (CBP), a 90-hectare space in the northeastern part of the city, is Berlin’s largest industrial site and is customized for manufacturing companies from the CleanTech sectors.
As the largest contiguous industrial area in Berlin, the location offers a core area for hazardous material facilities in accordance with the Federal Control of Pollution Act so that nearly every industrial production process is possible on the site. Industry suppliers and service providers can establish premises in the immediately adjacent 1,200-hectare industrial and commercial area called "berlin eastside".
In the immediate vicinity of the CBP site is the CleanTech Innovation Center (CIC) for start-ups. The CIC provides young companies focusing on clean and sustainable technologies with cost-efficient working spaces and workshops in an inspiring environment. At the heart of the CIC are manufacturing start-ups in their growth phase that are supported by an attractive mentoring program in the innovation center. The young companies can use the land in the CleanTech Business Park that has not yet been sold for demonstration purposes.
